From November 1st to 4th, a delegation led by Chen Zhijian, Secretary of the Party Committee of Chang’an University, visited Uzbekistan to engage in a series of cooperative exchanges focusing on the construction of the China-Uzbekistan Transportation College (Overseas College of Excellence for Engineers), the promotion of Chinese language teaching, and joint training of outstanding engineers. The visit yielded fruitful outcomes.

On November 1st, the delegation arrived in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, and visited the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Uzbekistan. Chen Zhijian introduced to Wang Jiwei, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim and Minister-Counselor, and Sun Changdong, Education Counselor, the disciplinary strengths of Chang’an University in fields such as transportation, land resources, and urban-rural development, as well as the progress of the China-Uzbekistan Transportation College. Wang Jiwei highly commended the university’s achievements in Chinese language teaching and localized talent cultivation in Uzbekistan, encouraging the university to utilize audiovisual materials and digital teaching methods to help Uzbek students gain a deeper understanding of China’s technological and modern development concepts. Following the meeting, the delegation presented the embassy with a bilingual edition of "Chinese Sages," translated by Kasimov Ilkhom, an outstanding alumnus of the university.

From November 2nd to 3rd, the Second China-Uzbekistan Forum of 100 Universities was held in Tashkent. The forum was attended by Huai Jinpeng, Minister of Education of China, and Kongratbay Sharipov, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, both of whom delivered speeches. During the forum, Chang’an University, together with China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), China Nuclear Geological Exploration Group Co., Ltd., China State Construction International (Uzbekistan) Co., Ltd., Tashkent State University of Geology, Tashkent State Transport University, Tashkent State Technical University, Uzbek Science and Technology Metal Group, and the National Planning and Design Institute of Uzbekistan, signed the "Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Construction of the China-Uzbekistan College of Excellence for Engineers." As a key project in educational and technological cooperation between China and Uzbekistan, the China-Uzbekistan Transportation College adopts a collaborative model of "four universities + four enterprises," focusing on major transportation infrastructure construction and intelligent electric vehicles. It aims to establish a new paradigm for international talent cultivation through "university-enterprise collaboration and cross-border co-education," with the goal of building a high-level talent training and technological innovation platform radiating across Central Asia.

On November 4th, the delegation visited the China-Uzbekistan Transportation College at Tashkent State Transport University, where they observed Chinese language classes and cultural practice activities and met with the first cohort of students enrolled in the "2+2" undergraduate program. Currently, the China-Uzbekistan Transportation College has admitted its first batch of 19 "1+1" master’s students and 66 "2+2" undergraduate students. The Chinese language teaching team, through regular instruction, cultural experiences, and digital resources, has effectively enhanced students’ language proficiency and understanding of contemporary China’s development. Additionally, the delegation met with Luo Jiaxiang (Saliev Jasur), President of the Chang’an University International Alumni Association for Central Asia, and Kasimov Ilkhom, Secretary-General, formally inviting them to visit China next year to participate in the 70th anniversary celebration of Chang’an University’s international student education.

During the visit, the delegation also reached cooperation agreements with six state universities in Uzbekistan and several enterprises, covering areas such as faculty and student exchanges, joint research, and specialized scholarship support. Relying on platforms such as the China-Uzbekistan Transportation College, Chang’an University will further expand the scale of Chinese language teacher deployment, promote the dual-track teaching model of "Chinese language + professional disciplines," and cultivate international talents with a deep understanding of and friendship toward China in Uzbekistan’s infrastructure sector.
