International Education School Visits Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan for Exchange and Communication
In response to the initiative of the China-Central Asia Summit on May 19, 2023, to promote the spirit of the Silk Road, which emphasizes peace, cooperation, openness, inclusiveness, mutual learning, and mutual benefit, and to build a platform for educational cooperation between China and Central Asia, the International Education School aims to deepen talent cultivation and educational cooperation between China and Central Asia. This visit further aims to advance the implementation of the cooperation agreements and plans formulated during the establishment of the China-Central Asia Transport Infrastructure Talent Cultivation Alliance in the field of transportation infrastructure construction. From December 21 to December 28, 2023, Zhang Wei, the Dean of the International Education School, led a delegation to carry out cooperative exchange activities with universities and research institutes in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Yang Wangtun, Deputy Director of the Secretariat of the China-Central Asia Transport Infrastructure Talent Cultivation Alliance, and Chen Xi, in charge of Chinese Language Training Center of the International Education School , also participated in this visit.
The visiting delegation successively visited Tashkent University of Humanities in Uzbekistan, Samarkand State University of Architecture, Kazakhstan Academy of Logistics and Transport, and Farabi University in Kazakhstan, where they held discussions. At Tashkent University of Humanities, they organized the Chang'an University-Tashkent University of Humanities International Students Cooperative Education Opening Ceremony, issued admission notices to the 2023 freshmen of the two universities for cooperative education, established the International Chinese Language Education and Research Center, and further discussed and exchanged ideas on cooperation in building a language testing center, high-quality teaching resources, and faculty and students exchanges.

The visiting delegation held in-depth discussions with the heads of Samarkand State University of Architecture, Kazakhstan Academy of Logistics & Transport, and Farabi University in Kazakhstan on talent cultivation, research cooperation, faculty and students exchanges, and the establishment of international research platforms.

In addition to visiting universities, the delegation also visited the National Planning and Design Institute of Uzbekistan. They held discussions with the institute's leaders, representatives from China Road and Bridge Corporation International Group, and others to jointly establish the China-Central Asia Collapsible Loess Engineering Research Center. They also discussed and exchanged ideas on collaborative efforts between universities, enterprises, and research institutions to cultivate high-level technical talents and jointly conduct international research projects. The delegation also met with Chinese companies such as Shaanxi Roads and Bridges Group, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, and China Railway 20th Bureau Group, to discuss the talent needs, research and development, and localization of talent training needs for Chinese companies overseas.

This visit has put into practice the spirit and purpose of the China-Central Asia Traffic Infrastructure Talent Development Alliance, and has advanced the specific work of our university in talent development, research cooperation, and international laboratory construction with Central Asian universities, research institutes, and enterprises. We have jointly discussed the work plan for the Alliance in 2024, effectively promoting the deep cooperation and exchange between our university and Central Asian universities, research institutes, and enterprises, making new contributions to the construction of a closer China-Central Asia community of shared destiny.
