In celebration of the 75th anniversary of Chang'an University and to deepen exchanges between Chinese and international students, the School of International Education and the China-Uzbekistan College of Transportation were invited to participate in the Molding Minds, Igniting Youth with Art clay sculpture experience event hosted by the Rainbow Psychology Association of the School of Automobile on the evening of April 16. Students from China and abroad enhanced mutual understanding and shared friendship through collaborative artistic creation.

The creative theme revolved around campus memories and the university anniversary celebration. International students from Uzbekistan experienced clay art for the first time. With patient guidance and collaboration from their Chinese peers, they started with basic techniques and worked together to shape colored clay into iconic campus landmarks, such as the Yifu Library and the Rainbow Goddess sculpture. The creative process was filled with laughter and joy, as communication through their fingertips bridged language barriers.
Cooperation between Chinese and Uzbek students was particularly noteworthy. In one group, a pair consisting of an Uzbek and a Chinese student co-created sculptures of the Chinese and Uzbek national flags. The Uzbek student structured the overall forms, while the Chinese student meticulously refined the details. Through simple expressions and gestures, they collaborated harmoniously in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, completing a piece symbolizing Sino-Uzbek friendship. Bakhtiyor, a student from Uzbekistan, shared, Creating our national flags with clay alongside my Chinese friend was especially meaningful. It’s a birthday gift we’ve prepared together for our university.
After completing their works, the students moved to the presentation and peer-review session. They appreciated each other’s creations, exchanged ideas, and voted to select outstanding works. Each clay sculpture served not only as an artistic expression but also as a vivid medium for conveying friendship and celebrating the university anniversary.
Held in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of Chang'an University, this event seamlessly integrated the anniversary theme, mental health education, and cultural exchange. By participating in such interactive and creative activities, the China-Uzbekistan Faculty of Transportation provided a platform for Uzbek students to express themselves and integrate into campus life. The collaboration further fostered understanding and mutual recognition between the youth of China and Uzbekistan, adding a warm and vibrant youthful spirit to the anniversary celebrations.
