China-Uzbekistan Joint Meeting on Architectural Talent Cultivation and Scientific Research Cooperation Held

  On May 6th, Chang’an University, in collaboration with Samarkand State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Uzbekistan) and Machinery Industry Survey & Design Institute Co., Ltd., held an online thematic meeting focused on advancing joint talent cultivation programs for undergraduate and master's students in architecture-related disciplines. The meeting also involved discussions regarding the establishment of a Belt and Road Joint Laboratory and other relevant international cooperation matters. The session was chaired by Zhang Wei, Dean of the School of International Education at Chang’an University.

  Participants included Cigdem Canbay Turkyilmaz, Rector of Samarkand State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering; Wang Huashan, Deputy General Manager of Machinery Industry Survey & Design Institute Co., Ltd.; and heads of relevant departments from all three parties.
  During the meeting, the two universities conducted in-depth exchanges regarding the joint talent cultivation model and the formulation of training programs for undergraduate and master's levels in architecture-related fields, reaching a consensus. Additionally, the three parties fully deliberated on core issues concerning the joint laboratory, including its positioning, research focus, and operational management mechanisms, resulting in multiple agreements.

  A dedicated task force was established at the meeting to refine task allocation, providing a strong guarantee for deepening university-university and university-enterprise industry-academia-research collaboration under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
