A Delegation Led by Li Yuqi, Party Secretary and Executive Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology, Visits Chang'an University for a Symposium

  On September 7, a delegation led by Li Yuqi, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Executive Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology, visited Chang'an University for a symposium. The meeting covered topics including high-standard preparation for the China–Central Asia Science, Technology and Cultural Exchange Event Series, strengthening the development of university associations for science and technology, promoting the spirit of scientists, enhancing engineer capacity building, and advancing think tank development. Li Shutao, President of Chang'an University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Fan Wen, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President, attended the meeting along with Zhang Junhua, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Wei, Dean of the School of International Education.
  At the meeting, Zhang Junhua briefed attendees on the basic profile of the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology and the progress made in preparing for the China–Central Asia Science, Technology and Cultural Exchange Event Series. Fan Wen introduced the university's overall profile and its achievements in international cooperation and scientific and technological innovation. The two sides then held discussions on deepening pragmatic cooperation.
  Li Yuqi acknowledged Chang'an University's support for the work of the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology. He noted that Chang'an University boasts strong strength in its distinctive disciplines and a solid foundation in international exchanges. He expressed the hope that the university and the association would strengthen coordination, pool efforts to successfully host the China–Central Asia Science, Technology and Cultural Exchange Event Series, and advance in a coordinated manner the development of university associations for science and technology, the cultivation of the engineer workforce, and the promotion of the spirit of scientists, so as to build distinctive platforms for scientific and technological exchange and empower Shaanxi's sci-tech innovation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
  Li Shutao stated that the university will actively align with national and regional development needs, draw upon its advantageous disciplines such as transportation engineering and civil engineering as well as its resources for international cooperation, proactively undertake relevant tasks, deeply participate in the preparation of the events, and expand broader cooperation with the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology in areas including international scientific and technological exchange, talent cultivation, and think tank development.
  Officials from relevant departments of the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology and Chang'an University also attended the symposium.
